DescriptionMulticolored block print scarf predominately red, blue & gold. Gold floral embroidery done in chain stitch at ends. Gold dots sewn and beaten throughout. (Ari and Pitta hammered). The scarf represents the work of two 2021 IFAM artists. Sufiyan Ismail Khatri created the base textile of Ajrakh hand block-print on silk using natural vegetable dyes. The block-printed designs have been enhanced with Asif Shaikh’s metallic thread hand embroidery using delicate ari (chainstitch) and pitta (hammered) techniques.Artist Not Recorded
