ProvenancePurchased at an antique sale at te the Minneapolis Institue of Art in the 1980s.
DescriptionThis almost square blanket is of blue wool, hemmed on each side. The embroidery style, known as rekipeitot features floral motifs placed in the middle of each side near the hem. The four corners have more of a geometric pattern. The stitches are stem and satin. At the hem area is a border of elongated cross stitch. The embroidery is done in muted colors, browns, tans, burgundy and blue with touches of pink and magenta.
