DescriptionAppears to be sewn by three different hands at different times. The most recent parts are the front and back side, done with central squares made up of smaller 1cm squares. The black and white form a chain (much like double Irish chain) centered with double crosses in burgundy, orange, and pale green. Surrounding this is a border of squares with central mirrors (Jat style) in blue, hot pink, pale green, and brown. Separating the sections are orange borders. At the top are five house-like figures with doors and roof decorations. The sides and bottoms of bag have more examples of Jat embroidery. On a black ground, the sides' rondels have a middle starburst pattern. The primary stitch is buttonhole (the stitches seem to be by a more experienced or expert stitcher). The bottom of the bag is on a red ground, and copies patterns on the side but with fewer details and bigger stitches. An orange tape edges the bag opening and ends in a loop. Lined in a heavier cotton than the ground.Collected in 1970s
