DescriptionLong, heavy, black skirt with attached bib and shoulder straps has large, lettuce edged, bell shaped skirt with alternating horizontal bands of black wool braided trim and velvet. The bottom is edged with off-white wool, and the back has a wide panel of crocheting with vertical stripes and scalloped edge, which is set higher than the front edge of the skirt. Natural colored cotton ties are attached at the sides near the waist. The second velvet band from bottom of skirt and two velvet band near hips are decorated with beaded floral forms, the highest decorated band also has two metal filigree ornaments with red glass centers (a third located at center is missing). The bib has a velvet center decorated with floral glass beadwork. Between two bands of wool braiding at sides are narrow olive green velvet strips, and below is a maroon velvet strip. All area beaded with X and linear diamond forms. Hooks are located at the tops of the velvet shoulder straps.Torah scroll: Circa 1875; Tik (Case): 1933 (Hebrew Year 5693)
