DescriptionThe burgundy silk backing has a centered dedication satin stitched on gold silk. The quilt front has a burgundy velvet border (18 c.). Many of the pieces are signed in running stitch (most names are listed in the notes section). Only a few of the quilt patches are embroidered (flowers), the majority are solid color in muted tones. There are some stripes, plaids, and brocades. The primary stitch is cretan, but there are areas with feather stitch and buttonhole. There is an appliqued moon and star in the center.
