DescriptionDark, stained and smoked wood handle with snake. The portion which protrudes into drum is pierced both directions with slender rectangular holes near the handle. The rounded portion of the handle which touches the drum is edged with a repeatd, connected diamond motif, below which are three bas-relief heads on a round, turned ground. Below is a band of lotus petals, a melon-like for, and a carved, interlocking rope. The triangular bottom handle section depicts a large cobra head with spiraling tail carved on the sides. Below its tail and on the back are deeply carved symbols.
