DescriptionDescription from artist as recorded by Suzanne MacAulay:
Before each Christmas on 16 December, Josie's father would invite neighbors to kill a pig. Always done in cold weather. Setting depicts Josie's father's backyard. The annual slaughter of the pig was a communal tradition of bonding and sharing. Adobe house built in 1925. Boiled water in black pot over a fire & butchered in a certain way.
