DescriptionWoman’s Leksandsdräkt in the combonation worn for funerals; mourning ensemble.

Color is a good indicator of a garment’s value within Leksand’s
dress code. Yellow was historically the easiest and cheapest dye
to produce, usually by boiling birch leaves. This made yellow
a common color used for dresses that little girls would quickly
outgrow, as well as for times of mourning or religious fasting
when one should dress simply (from exhibition label text).
