ProvenancePer Acquisition Proposal Form: Worn by donor's wife, Reidun Nuquist, until her death in 2018. Likely made for her by relatives prior to her 1963 wedding, then brought to the US when she immigreated in the 1960s.
DescriptionThis short red/gold wool jacket is embroidered in greens and golds at the front, back, and above the cuffs. The jacket front in lined in red cotton. The sleeve ends and neck edges are black wool. Along the armhole and back, there is a row of red wool cut triangles set in the seams. There is red wool piping set in the sleevetop seam. At the left front closure, there is an attached metal filigree clasp and snaps. The hem edge is unfinished.Late 1970s
