DescriptionDress from this area-between the Pelagonia Plain villages and the Mariovo villages on a high plateau-shows elements of both places. The chemise and apron are similar to those of the lower villages, while the use of the ubrus on the head and fringes on the outer klashenik are similar to Mariovo. On the shoulders is pinned a black woolen braid, prtzle, that hangs below the fringe of the ubrus. The recently married woman would dress this way on Sundays, festive occasions, and weddings for the first year after the wedding or until she gave birth. Other elements of the outfit include the skopetz coin jewelry and the dickey, grlo, ornamented with embroidery, sequins, and beads (Young Brides, Old Treasures: Macedonian Embroidered Dress, edited by Bobbie Sumberg, 2011).Parts of Ensemble: A.2005.42.7, Belt: Belt
