DescriptionReflecting an urban, late Ottoman influence, these navy blue silk trousers have four gold tapes with metallic threads and a vining leaf pattern evenly spaced on front and back. In the center, on both sides, are the same pattern of couched metallic braids of varying widths on a lighter blue ground. They are rectangular at the waist and fall to a a triangular shape. At both leg openings are other couched patterns with points going up. The hem braid couching is on a yellow cotton. The trousers are fully lined in cotton with small red flower and brown-stem leaf pattern. There is a drawstring waist.ca. 1875
