DescriptionIntricately couched gold thread embroidery covers this cream colored, fine wool cape. Patterns range from paisly to crests, stars, quatrefoil flowers, and basket weave. One tassel falls from the waist area of each side. Above is a rhomboid shape of blue turquoise beads that match the blue, silk lining. The cape has a flat rondel and embroidered collar. Two wrapped buttons, with turquoise beads, serve as closures---one at neck and the other in chest area.19th century
