DescriptionThis chemise is made of a white cotton fabric with interwoven tan stripes of different widths. It has a stand-up collar and wide sleeves. The embroidery (petit point) down the sleeves is of predominantly red, with some green, brown, and black. The cuff has a narrow row of couching in red and black. The open neck and stand-up collar have different embroidered decorations that are the same as those along the entire hem area. Two faceted black buttons and red crocheted loops serve as closure.ca. 1875
