DescriptionThis navy blue felted wool coat has no front closures. Red felt rises from waist to thin band around collar back. It has orange embroidered decorations and at wider parts 33 pointed gold- colored metal studs. Different colored joined felt strips and squares forming single piece are at front side waist. Below on proper left is a pocket lined in blue and pink cotton. Hem has two layers. The lower is trimmed in a floral cotton industrial cloth. The upper layer, from mid fronts to around back, is red felt interspersed with chain stitch embroidered geometric patterns. The center red areas have black embroidered "suns." Set in sleeves have a V at cuff seam (trimmed in red and close with hook and eye. On front wrists a decorated patch (orange, blue, green, burgundy at edge) and 3 tassels in same colors. The look is reminsicent of military regalia.Early-mid 20th century
