DescriptionThe belt is white and brown braid decorated with evenly spaced white and red beads that outline it. The belt is covered in couched metallic braid (silver and gold), metallic rickrack, white beads, four black, white, and red beads, with metallic sequins centered on the red beads. It seems that the beading is on a red silk over a loosely woven sacking (not burlap). Silver coins, graduating in size, hang from the belt hem--the largest denomination outward to the smallest denomination. The ties of red silk have couched braid borders and a row of metallic rickrack in the center.19th century
