DescriptionPainted paper marriage contract, bold jewish characters in black ink form its border. The top half of the contract painted with two standing lions facing the center, each with a half-risen sun with facial features on its back. Above the lions are two painted birds with circular tail feathers. A painted scalloped edge surrounds the figures. The bottom half of the contract contains a rectangular portion with small ink script, surrounded by a wide decorative border. On either side of the script are two painted birds, and beneath script are three embellishments, each with a droplet in the center. Overall contract is decorated with red painted dots, yellow painted backgrounds, and gray painted figures. Signed on back.1877
