DescriptionChest. Pine with cedar lining. Sawn, carved, dovetailed, hinged, pegged, screwed, stained, painted.
Front of chest: relief carved with center rosette flanked by rampant Castillian lions. Sides: relief carved with floral and rosette motif. Top: relief carved with Franciscan rope design. All carving is lightly painted in blues and reds. Lyrate shaped stand is a separate piece from chest. Ends of stand relief carved in a half rosette with spindle-carved stand stretcher. Stand painted same colors as chest. Hand-forged iron hardware: basket design front handle, rosette design side handles and floral design top hinges at back of chest.
