DescriptionRound, stamped be beading border, L.V. on one face and G M L on reverse. This counter represented one sheared sheep. (letters G M L not explained). The letters L.V. stand for Lorenzo Villa of Carlsbad NM, a sheep owner employing shearers.19th c.
