DescriptionIn his series Memory of the Heart, Balyberdin used ammunition casings collected near the eastern town of Izyum after its liberation. In creating the pendants, he melted and layered various casings, one on top of the other, making each pendant a unique blend. “The casings stop being weapons and instead transform into something that brings people joy—fear and pain become beauty and hope,” shares Balyberdin.
