DescriptionThis deep red brocade bodice is edged in green silk. The front has hand embroidered heart designs (herringbone stitch) in shades of yellow, blue, white, and green. The bodice's 'peplum' is a brighter red. The piece is both machine and hand sewn, with generous seam allowances. 5 pairs of metal hearts at the opening in the front are laced with black and white tape. A hook & eye serve as waist closure. A green couched stripe and V are on the back, where there are also 3 metal hooks. The bodice has a muslin lining.Late 1970s
