DescriptionLarge brown jar with iron slip decorated Edgefield-style design of "5" as capacity mark surrounded by loops as medallion. These decorations are black. Two lug handles, short neck, and rounded rim. Inside is a splash guard collar which is a ledge to hold a wooden lid (which is not included). Included is a wooden dash stick which is a wooden dowel with two cross-pieces attached at the bottom end. "Hewell Maker" is stamped on the top of churn shoulder, and "Matthew Hewell John 3-16 Gillsville GA 2007 is signed on the bottom.
