DescriptionA chatelaine was a decorative clasp or hook worn at the waist, from which various useful items were suspended by chains — such as keys, scissors, thimbles, watches, or small tools.

5 implements on a chain--scissors in case, tape measure, scent bottle, pad of ivory disks with silver covres, pencil holder, heavily embellished. Reverse is engraved "Maie Bartlett 1889". Stamped S. Mordane + Co., O&S, SB+E, and E.
