DescriptionBlack coated, lidded basket. Basket (a) has round opening and round top half of body with lashed top edge. At center of body are metal loops at "back" corners. At this point the body narrows to a rectangular foot. The foot is crossed with bamboo splints with are bent upwards at the corners and rise to the mid point of the basket just below the loops. The narrow horizontal weavers on the top and bottom halves have two widely spaced rows separating them a the midpoint. The slightly convex lid (b) is also darkly coated and has flat herringbone weave sides and a wide, star/box patterned weave on the top center with lashed splints around the opening and top edges.
