DescriptionCarnival hat of hard molded wool. Fringed on interior and exterior of brim, with decorative braid and small sequins inside. A tassel on cord hangs from brim down back. Crown has three crosses (two with sequins), two flowers and fringe. Dangling from the top of the upturned brim are two elongated oval flaps with a core of several layers of cardboard covered with a silken fabric, gold foil and decorative blue glass bead zigzags on the outside. A round mirror in a metal frame is attached to the outside bottom. Above the mirror is a red ribbon cross with silver glass beads at each end and a button in the center.1795–1810
