DescriptionHeadband of two parts, the inner portion lined in white and faded red floral print cotton and pink cotton, the outside covered with pink silk. The border, which would frame the face decorated with one long strip of bent, metal wrapped substance, probably paper. This strip is framed with cotton twine and gold metallic wrapped thread, the ends finished with single freshwater pearls encircled by finely coiled wire. An applied, metallic trim finishes the back and sides of this piece, to which is attached a multi-layered, pierced, stiffened paper and fabric support with is painted pink on the underside. The top is covered with an ornate design with 5 circular forms of thin, silver colored metal wrapped paper? which center pink glass "stones.", and smaller circular forms centering freshwater pearls. Additional pearls liberally scattered over the surface. Flowing designs around the circular forms are formed of cotton twine overlaid with strands of white seed beads and outlined with gold metallic wrapped thread. Overall are attached multiple dangles of brass colored, rounded triangles.
