DescriptionOf hide with hair on it, stretched over thin wooden box. Inside lined with buckskin, extended to lap over top rims. Laced over the hair side were large patches of red manchester cloth, dark blue cloth, (if velveteen no nap remains, may have been felt or heavy broadcloth), laced down with strips of rawhide making decorative geometric patterns much like tiles. The lid was made in the same way except that it was only of rawhide shaped to fit the box, without wooden frame and had red, blue and brown cloth squares on it. Narrow hinges of iron, long handmade iron hasp with square steel lock, all riveted on with broad iron rivets such as might have been used for harness after US hardware came in. No data. Old trunks European, Mestizo, iron and leatherwork.Artist not recorded
