DescriptionIn New Mexico figures represented in the hermit's scanty rags, like this one, and with sores or bloody spots on their bodies, are as a rule of St. Jerome. However, the attributes of St. Jerome always shown with him in santero images; the lion, trumpet, (Voice of God), and stone in his hand, and sometimes an inkwell, are all absent in this panel. In the style of Molleno with the floral decoration of his middle period.
