DescriptionTwo panels of weft-faced plain weave with repeat diamond grid created with supplementary weft wrapping and face floats. Likely woven from reverse side to tie knots and float face wefts. Warp: Z-spun 2-ply S-twist in natural undyed brown wool. Warp ends grouped and knotted. Wefts include undyed brown and white wool, and dyed wool in red, blue, and orange.
Selvedge edges reinforced with two-color, two-strand crossed wrapping. Two panels sewn together with blue and red yarn. Likely all natural dyes and undyed wool. Blue likely indigo. Reddish orange likely madder root.
