DescriptionLarge, long, deep red cotton shawl with fine white plaid overall. The fringed end has an ~24" wide woven border with a warm brown ground and orange, light green, red, cream, purple and black, as well as light gold metallic thread geometric patterns and bands. The interior end of this border has an additional area of gold colored and metallic thread motifs which carry on an additional 7" into the red plaid area. Next to the fringe is a cream colored band, and the fringes are in cream, warm and dark browns. The other end carries the red ground through the ornamental weaving but for a narrow band at the end in cream and warm brown, which ends in a frayed fringe. This ~10" wide end is woven, but gives the impresson, on the back side, of being sewn on. Artist Not Recorded
