DescriptionHardwood cross with dark stain on round chip carved base of decreasing circumfrence layers toward top. Cross engraved on front and painted in gold paint with facts about the bible. The back reads "Engraved by H. Hempstead. July 3, 1893. Piketon, O." Front reads "BOTH BOOKS OF THE BIBLE CONTAINS 3,586,983 LETTERS, 778,693 WORDS, 31,373 VERSES, 1,189 CHAPt AND 66 BOOKS....". The bottom of the base is printed "11 District, State of Ohio 50" in pencil, the name "Irene" as well as other indeciferable scrawls. Base slightly lighter warm brown stain than cross.
