DescriptionPicture is painted on paper set under glass in pine panel, evidently a re-used retablo which has traces of gesso on back. Glass was cut in irregular oval shape and panel reamed out to fit glass; a new, scalloped molding of wood was set on the front to frame the picture. The painting is naive with simple dots over garments of Virgin and also used as decorations. The figure faces to the right-a departure from the correct pose, which inclines toward the left, (of panel) in the original painting and its many copies.Artist not recorded
