DescriptionConical figure in wood with cloth and yeso mantle stretched tightly from neck to hem, over shoulders and back, on wood figure. The reverse is practicaly flat but front of wide hoop skirt is curved. Figure was from a single piece of wood except added head and hands, joined in prayer. Originally had red dress of tempera paint, with medium indigo mantle. Second and present paint layer over yeso also of santero workmanship, is more ambitious, with rosette and bands of raised white dots (opaque paint), a floral motif covering lower part of skirt, and wide border at hem of crosshatched black, white, red and blue under a band of scallops, the latter peach pink and white. The remains of this decoration suggest the style of the Pedro a Fresquis Calligraphic santero whose retablos are many. The mantle's second coat is darker blue with large white, 8-pointed stars over it as on the mantle of the Guadalupe.Artist Not Recorded
