DescriptionA crocheted and spiral woven (over plant fiber) cap, is decorated with short "spikes" (or tufts, 2"in length, covered with crocheted cotton and wool) which cover the lower two-thirds (sides) of the hat. Circles of blue descend from a red and blue "bull's eye" at the top of the cap .The spikes or tufts are striped and some have red tips, and others blue, creating a red, white and blue effect of dots and stripes. The crocheting between the spikes creates circular motifs with holes at their centers emphasizing the dot patterning mentioned above.
