DescriptionThis ōban woodblock print by Koitsu is in very fine condition, retaining strong, saturated colors throughout the image. Minor condition concerns include adhesive residue on the verso and mat burn along the outer margins. The print portrays two fishing boats off the coast of Shinagawa under the light of a full moon. Fires burning aboard each vessel attract fish for night fishing, lending a warm glow to this evocative depiction of daily life in early twentieth-century Japan.
