Description3354 Şmādeh (late nineteenth century) This hat is similar to no. 1712. It has 140 Ottoman coins on the outer rim. On the inner rim are eighty European coins which range in date from 1850 to 1875. A French coin dated 1899 is on the left side of the cap. Another on the right is now missing. This does not necessarily establish a terminus a quo for this hat since the coin may be a later addition. Diameter: 30 cm.
