DescriptionRectangular hanging made of five panels of pale yellow, plainwoven cotton ground embroidered in silk thread. The embroidery is arranged with a central field surrounded by a wide border. The field contains a large central four-lobed medallion with scrolling outline surrounded by floral rosettes in each courner and four lozenges evoking a diamond border around the central medallion. The wide border contains abstract rosettes in-filled with floral and vegetal designs and small motifs of vases/vessels. Vining tendrils, flowers, and curly-cues fill spaces between larger motifs. Edges are folded over and hemmed.Late 18th - early 19th century
