DescriptionWhite fabric mask with brown and black Pueblo style parrot pottery print on the outside. Inside is a brown fabric and earloops are made of black elastic. Parrot Pottery Print Face Mask by ACONAV (Loren Aragon, Acoma Pueblo). For one of his series of masks, designer Loren Aragon transposed Acoma Pueblo pottery designs to printed fabric. From an extended family of potters and textile artists, Aragon sees his design work as a means of preserving Pueblo culture. He refers to his mask series as “protective styling.”
