ProvenancePurchased at the Oiwa-Inari Jinja (Shrine) / Yakushi Temple on Samon-cho, Shinjuku, Tokyo by curator Felicia Katz-Harris. Hand-carried to the US by the curator.
DescriptionThis shrine plaque (Ema) is comprised of a light colored wood, red cord, and an ink printed figure. On the proper right side there are black Japanese characters. In the center there is a woman with black hair, wearing a red, black and gold kimono. The woman at the center is surrounded by a gold circle and two small white clouds. On the proper left side there are red Japanese characters.1925 (13th year of Taisho Period)
