DescriptionA black cotton ground, made from hand-woven strips, provides the backdrop to this Dogon wedding shawl. Dominant red embroidery using cotton thread includes length-wise stripes with diamond motif accents, and zig-zag, wavy, and straight lines. Additional accent is provided with cotton thread as yellow and teal length-wise zig-zags; width-wise yellow lines. Teal and yellow V's are embroidered with wool. Colors: black, red, yellow, teal.
