DescriptionRio Grande weaving incorporating an old Chimayo pattern expanded to cover the surface of the textile. Textile has a symmetrical pattern in natural browns and whites, cochineal pink, and logwood lilac color with gray fringed ends. Bands of color are overlaid with ten sets of five black lines. A metal rod is inserted at one end for hanging. Centinella tag at one corner.
Per Dan Prall: Weaving done in bands of shades of gray, brown, cream and pale red overlaid with ten sets of five black lines; mixed in are a variety of angular designs done in the same colors as well as a darker ed using cochineal dye; Weaving is hand spun and dyed; A metal rod is inserted at one end for hanging.
