DescriptionWarm, dark hardwood-faced octagonal box with lid. Lid and eight sides stepped and chip carved, the lid with a large star surrounded by five bird appliques, the sides with various flowers, a heart, cross and geometric motif, one on each side. The lid, formerly hinged, now secured by twill tape and tacks. The points of nails protrude through the bottom masonite into the box. The box bottom is covered with layers of silver duct tape. Inside bottom of lid and one side piece have printed paper adhered.1920s-1930s
