DescriptionEtching of head of Christ on cloth (Veronica's Veil) surrounded by praying angels and symbols of the passion. Below is a small image of Christ and Veronica, all on yellowing paper inside glassed tin frame. Frame is about 1" deep with "ear-like" flanges at top corners and semi-circular attachment at top. Tin is darkened by painted or oiled application. Hanger at back. Decorated with punched or hammered central shell and semi circular repeated designs around edges and shell.
