FA. 72.25–29 Jillāyeh (ca. 1900) This somewhat more recent jillāyeh is also from the Beit Dajan area. It is made of handwoven, dark indigo linen. The embroidery is similar in color, motif, and technique to that of no. 3372; however, there is less of it, and there is no couching. The yoke is the usual red and yellow striped atlas silk. The silk heremsy appliqué bordering the slit in the skirt front is deep red, green, and gold. Long cords with several tassels fasten the neck closing. There are glass beads just above the tassels. At the sleeve edges and the hem of the skirt is a scalloped border of heremsy silk appliqué. The qabbeh of this jillāyeh was apparently never finished. Length: 133 cm. Width: 84 cm.
