FA. 72.25-5g Swar or Eṣāwra (early twentieth century) (Fig. 47) This delicate, open silver bracelet is decorated with low, round knobs which are set off in hexagonal frames. The entire bracelet is edged with metallic wire, looped to give a cordlike effect. This bracelet was made by the famous Jerusalemite jeweler Khalil and bears his signature. It is not unknown for artisans in the Islamic world to sign their works, and there exist examples in a variety of media, some dating back to the Middle Ages. 34 Height: 2.3 cm.
