DescriptionCandle holder pine, hand sawn, planed and turned, from piece 4.5 x 4.5 diameter where it is square. Pole is dowelled through cross arm, also hand-shaped, and hangs by a thong. Holds six candles. Typical of candle holders made before tin was available for church, baile halls, schools or other places large enough to need such lighting. Later this continued to be made with sawn lumber and nails.
