DescriptionKAIN KAPALA, MAN'S HEADCLOTH; The square field is covered with octagonal medallions filled with floral motifs and much linear design. These are interspersed with smaller medallions. The border is painted with gold in stylized plant borders (5 1/2"). At one corner the gold design creates a triangles. When folded into a headdress, the triangle becomes a point of the front; colors are red, off-white, rose, metallic golds, dark blue; materials are plain weave cotton, dyes, gold leaf paint; techniques are painting and batik.
